Property Manager

Join our year round team and make a lasting impact as Lakeside’s Property Manager.  The Lakeside Property Manager is tasked with the care and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and property at Lakeside.  Candidates should have experience and understanding of the basic skills needed for carpentry, plumbing, cleaning, mechanical, and small engine maintenance.  A successful candidate will be able to take initiative and operate independently, lead our summer maintenance team, as well as work together as part of our ministry.

House Keeping:

House Keeping Application

Join our summer Hospitality Team to help us live out our mission of providing our guests with a place of belonging where ALL people can find joy and purpose in God’s creation.  Must be 18 years or older.  Position start at $17/Hour.  Sundays 10:30am-4pm.  Fridays 10:30am-4pm (Summer)

Team Support

Team Support 1 (First Year) – Ages 16+

In the position of Team Support 1, a staff member would assist in the kitchen, help set up different activities for campers, oversee various choice time activities, and assist with day camper/cabin groups as needed. Team Support is all about supporting other staff members and making camp a safe and enjoyable place for everyone that attends.

 

Team Support 2 (Returning Staff) – Ages 16+

In the position of Team Support 2, a staff member would assist in the kitchen, help with different trainings, be an extra set of hands for overnight campers, oversee various choice time activities,

Day Camp Leaders

Day Camp Leaders – Ages 16+

A Day Camp Leader would be responsible for leading day camp cabin groups ranging from kindergarten to 4th grade. Day Camp Leaders would help with Day Camp Coordinator plan and schedule activities, prep and clean up different activities, communicate with parents at pickup and drop off, as well as help with different trainings.

 

Day Camp Support – Ages 14/15

A Day Camp Support would help Day Camp leaders supervise cabin groups and help prep and clean up different activities.

Hiring 4-5 in this position.

Cabin Leader 1 (First Year) – Ages 18+

 This would include supervising small groups of campers during cabin activities, bible studies, meals, and more. These leaders are expected to lead games, crafts, songs, as well as encourage mental, spiritual, and emotional growth in themselves, campers, and fellow staff. Cabin leaders are role models and have direct impacts on campers’ lives. 

Cabin Leader 2 (Returning Staff) – Ages 18+

As this position is offered to returning staff members, Cabin leader 2’s would be in charge of certain areas around camp. For example, a Cabin leader 2 would be in charge of a cabin, but also the craft cabin and making sure that everything is stocked and there are activities planned for campers. These leaders would also help plan worships, aid different trainings, and lead staff meetings.

Hiring 8-12 positions.

FULL FOR 2024

Activities Coordinator – Ages 18+

The Activities Coordinator would be responsible for everything activity/adventure related around camp. The Activities Coordinator would facilitate the climbing tower, barn wall, zipline, low ropes, archery, as well as preparing and planning all camp activities throughout the weeks during the summer. Even though the main focus of the Activities Coordinator is activities/adventure, this staff member would also help with various training, maintaining a positive community at camp, helping wherever is needed around camp, and being a leader for those who need it. 

Aquatic Coordinator –  Ages 21+ OR 1 year of summer camp experience

The Aquatic Coordinator would be responsible for everything water related around camp. This would include waterfront, pool, and any other water activity that would go on at camp. It is required for the Aquatic Coordinator to be lifeguard certified which can be done on and off site. Even though the main focus of the Aquatic Coordinator is water, this staff member would also help with various training, maintaining a positive community at camp, helping wherever is needed around camp, and being a leader for those who need it.

Day Camp Coordinator –  Ages 21+ OR 1 year of summer camp experience

The Day Camp Coordinator is responsible for the onsite day camps that are hosted at LLC. The Day Camp Coordinator would coordinate daily schedules to allow for a community between day camp and overnight, plan for first-time campers and returners, plan various activities, communicate with staff members about needs and assistance, coordinate closing ceremonies for parent involvement with campers, oversee and instruct day camp team, as well as collect surveys and feedback from both campers and parents. Even though the main focus of the Day Camp Coordinator is onsite day camp, this staff member would also help with various training, maintaining a positive community at camp, helping wherever is needed around camp, and being a leader for those who need it.

Hiring 3 position.

Media Coordinator/Intern

FULL FOR 2024

Media Intern – 1 – Ages 18+

The media intern would be responsible for taking photos and videos of what is happening around camp. The Media Intern would take over the camp’s social media throughout the summer showcasing the fun experiences at Lakeside. Summer Project is a marketing video. 

Media Intern/Team Support – 1 to 2 – Ages 16+

The media intern would be responsible for taking photos and videos of what is happening around camp. The Media Intern would take over the camp’s social media throughout the summer showcasing the fun experiences at Lakeside. As well as being a media intern, this position would also have the responsibility of a team support position. A Team Support would assist in the kitchen, help set up different activities for campers, oversee various choice time activities, and assist with day camper/cabin groups as needed. Team Support is all about supporting other staff members and making camp a safe and enjoyable place for everyone that attends. This position learns a lot about leadership, communication, service, and how camp runs successfully. This individual will be well trained for a larger leadership role in future summers.

Assistant Cook

Position Summary
An Assistant Cook (2) works directly with our head chef to provide quality meals to campers, staff, and guests. Under the Chef’s guidance you’ll prep and serve the day meals. Over see support staff and volunteers in the kitchen. Alternating with the other Assistant Cook you’ll be in charge of the kitchen and evening meals select nights. 

Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older
Experience following Recipes, cutting, cleaning, sanitizing, re-heating, storing, and serving foods. 
Experience with dietary restrictions and allergies
Working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, and commercial kitchen operations
Willing to be a positive role model for children
Able to work well and communicate with others
Open to being spontaneous, enthusiastic and willing to learn
Have a positive attitude in working with all types of staff and campers
Be flexible and versatile
Willing to live in a rustic environment throughout the summer
Willing to be uncomfortable to grow personally
Lifeguard certification and Belay certification is a bonus
Ability to play guitar or similar instruments is preferred
Able and willing to get CPR, First Aid, and AED certified
ServeSAFE certified 

Responsibilities
Provide meaningful ministry through meals. 
Prep, Cook, and Serve meals.
Open and close kitchen 
Assist with menu planning, ordering, and organization of kitchen operations.
Over see and manage volunteers and support staff assigned to kitchen
Keep kitchen and all equipment clean, safe, and able to pass health inspections. 
Maintaining a positive, upbeat, energetic attitude throughout the summer
Caring for camp, yourself, campers, co-workers, and any and all guests who interact with Lutheran Lakeside Camp

Compensation
$400-$500 a week depending on experience and certifications. 
You can receive meals and housing for 11 weeks.
You can make this position an internship if you have a related major.
