Middle School Camps

Confirmation Camp

Each year, dozens of confirmation students from across the state of Iowa come to Lakeside to have an exciting and engaging week of learning!  Kids have the chance to experience God’s creation while skimming over the blue waves of East Okoboji on a sailboat or flying down the zipline located in the camp woods.  They will bond with campers from all over Iowa and even get to spend a night camping with them under the stars!  Campers will get to have engaging bible studies with pastors and counselors, thoughtful devotionals, and exciting worship services.  Through living in an intentional Christian Community, full of supportive, creative, and thought provoking minds, we hope to inspire learning and understanding of God’s mission in the next generation.  Any week of Confirmation is sure to be full of laughter and learning!

Junior High

A perfect camp for kids who love to have a lot of options!  Kids will have a blast painting their name on the craft cabin and making one of a kind tie dye creations or even the classic camp bracelet.  Anyone who loves to be on the lake will enjoy our broad range of water activities - from swimming to boat rides, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, and even synchronized swimming.  Real adventurers will also adore the rock climbing tower, biking, zip line, hiking and camp outs.  There’s also our awesome all camp games like Four Way Soccer, Boofers, Counselor Hunt, Ga-Ga Ball, Eliminator and even Quidditch for the Harry Potter fans! (Go Ravenclaw!).  This camp always has a million things to do and a ton of friends to make!

Night Owls

What better way to spend your summer than to stay up late and sleep through the morning?  Even campers at Lakeside love that!  During this camp, counselors stay up late with campers playing glow games, watching movies, and telling funny stories.  Breakfast will even be served at midnight!  They will spend a relaxed morning sleeping in before joining in with the rest of the camp in classic activities like carpet ball, climbing the Tower, capture the flag, kayaking on the lake, and more.  This week is everything campers love about Lakeside plus late nights with friends! (Cost is $450 per week)

See the line where the sky meets the sea?  Keep wondering how far you’ll go?  Come sail away with Lakeside’s full week of sailing camp!  Campers will start by learning how to sail boats like Sunfish or Hobie Cats, from setup to speeding them across the lake, and work their way towards the larger classes of boats.  When not sailing, the campers will still get to enjoy Lakeside’s many adventure activities like zip lining, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, paddle boarding, and more.
